Topeka Teacher arrested for alleged sex crimes from 2018

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A Topeka teacher has been arrested by the Kansas Bureau of Investigations (KBI) for alleged sex crimes.

Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 6 p.m., Brian Stuckenschmidt, 38, of Topeka, was arrested with a warrant for rape and aggravated criminal sodomy, according to a press release from the KBI.

In May of 2023, a former student of Stuckenschmidt reported incidents to the KBI that took place between January and May of 2018, when he was her music teacher at USD 452, in Johnson City, Kansas.

Stuckenschmidt is currently employed at a Topeka school, but has been on administrative leave since June of 2023, when KBI agents brought the investigation to school officials. According to the press release, Stuckenschmidt was arrested and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections.
