LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KTLA) – A crew member on the set of the upcoming Marvel television series “Wonder Man” has died after falling from the rafters of a Los Angeles studio, Marvel confirmed to multiple outlets Tuesday.
A spokesperson with Marvel Studios told Deadline that the crew member was a rigger at the Radford Studio Center in the San Fernando Valley.
The series was not filming at the time when the tragedy occurred on Tuesday morning.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends, and our support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this accident,” a spokesperson for Marvel said in a statement shared with The Los Angeles Times.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will be investigating, the Associated Press reported.
“Wonder Man,” starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Ben Kingsley, is scheduled to debut on Disney+, though no official release date has been announced. Production of the show had already been halted during the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes, Deadline previously reported, with plans to resume sometime next month.
Nexstar’s KTLA has reached out to Marvel for additional information.
