McPherson jail deputy arrested

MCPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. (KSNW) — A person who was a corrections deputy at the McPherson County Jail has been arrested.

The McPherson County Sheriff’s Office says Cheyenne Ratley is charged with one count of introduction of contraband into a correctional institution by a correctional officer. It is a felony charge.

The sheriff’s office said the investigation began on Jan. 12. Investigators did not say what type of contraband was allegedly taken into the jail. Still, they say the contraband was distributed to an inmate or inmates. The investigation is continuing.

Ratley is currently awaiting extradition back to Kansas.
