Hit-and-run, shooting prompt Topeka police to arrest 3

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Police investigating a hit-and-run say three are under arrest following additional reports of people injured by gunfire.

Edward Stanley with the Topeka Police Department (TPD) said in a press release that officers were called around 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 5 to the 2400 block of SW 10th Street. Arriving at the scene, police found one person suffering from non-life-threatening injuries after being allegedly hit by a vehicle. This individual was hospitalized as the investigation continued.

On Tuesday, Feb. 6, Stanley released more information related to the hit-and-run incident in a second press release. This time, he reports that two individuals arrived at a local hospital with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds believed to have been caused in the same hit-and-run incident on Feb. 5.

Stanley said three people were taken to the Law Enforcement Center to talk with detectives in relation to the original incident. As a result, three men from Topeka were arrested and taken to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections:

26-year-old

Aggravated robbery; inflicts bodily harm

Possession of stolen property

25-year-old

Aggravated robbery; inflicts bodily harm

Possession of stolen property

27-year-old

Possession of marijuana

Interference with a law enforcement officer

Fail to stop at accident; injury/damage

Possession of drug paraphernalia
