Monkeys will predict Superbowl champ at Topeka Zoo

6 February 2024

TOPEKA (KSNT) – The Topeka Zoo and Conservation Center will hold a Facebook Live event to see if its Patas Monkeys will root for their old hometown or the Kansas City Chiefs.

The monkeys came to Topeka from San Francisco in 2018. Now the zoo wants to see if they choose the Kansas City Chiefs or the San Francisco 49ers.

“We are so excited this year for the Patas to pick their choice for Super Bowl 2024,” said Fawn Moser, interim director of the Topeka Zoo. “We are just wondering if they will pick their previous hometown or will they be supporting the Chiefs?”

While Patas Monkeys are not typically known for game day predictions, they are the fastest primate in the world, the zoo said in a press release.

You can witness the prediction at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8 through Facebook Live @topekazoo or in person at 635 SW Gage Blvd.
