Super Bowl 2024 prop bets: Will Travis Kelce propose to Taylor Swift?
6 February 2024
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WDAF) — The NFL has unashamedly embraced the fandom of pop star Taylor Swift, and commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed those thoughts on Monday at his Super Bowl news conference.
“Having the Taylor Swift effect is also a positive,” Goodell said. “She knows great entertainment, and I think that’s why she loves NFL football. Besides Travis, she’s a football fan.”
“Listen, both Travis and Taylor are wonderful young people. They seem very happy,” he added.
The league certainly enjoys Swift and Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s romance. With soaring ratings, merchandise sales and the following of the NFL, the Chiefs and Kelce have shot through the roof since Swift began frequenting Chiefs games.

Kelce also appreciates how Swift’s fans support everything she supports.
“Taylor’s fanbase is absolutely unbelievable,” Kelce said on Monday night. “It’s been awesome to see the NFL expand in that regard. Just how many young girls are getting into the game of football, are enjoying those moments with their fathers and their loved ones, its been awesome to hear.”
Super Bowl LVIII comes right after the Grammys, where Swift’s “Midnights” won Album of the Year for the fourth time, the most in the awards’ history.
“She’s rewriting the history books,” Kelce said of Swift’s Grammy accolades. “I told her I need to hold up my end of the bargain and bring home some hardware, too.”
Kelce could certainly do so if the Chiefs topple the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.
He has 22 catches for 262 yards and three touchdowns in three playoff games and passed Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice for the most postseason receptions all-time in the AFC Championship against the Baltimore Ravens.
Swift is off to Japan to perform four shows in Tokyo, but she could still make it in time for the kickoff of the Super Bowl.
Some football fans have accused the NFL of rigging the games (jokingly and seriously) to make sure the Chiefs advance for the romance to keep being placed on front street.
Goodell laughed those rumors away.
“I don’t think I’m that good of a scripter — or anybody on our staff,” he said with a laugh.
