Juvenile arrested after 2 fires at an Emporia business

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A juvenile was arrested on suspicion of two counts of arson on Thursday, Feb. 1.

The Emporia Fire Department and the Emporia Police Department worked together to make the arrest.


Towne East shooting leads to 1st-degree murder charge

The City of Emporia says the fires happened on Wednesday, Jan. 17, and Monday, Jan. 22, both at Moore’s Greenhouse in western Emporia.

The investigation has been concluded.

The name of the juvenile is not being released.

The case has been turned over to the Lyon County Attorney’s Office.
