Two Wichita library branches open longer hours

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Two Wichita Public Library branches in east Wichita have expanded their hours.

New hours starting Saturday, Feb. 3:

Angelou Branch Library, 3051 E. 21st Street

Tuesday-Thursday: 1-8 p.m.

Friday-Saturday: 1-6 p.m.

Sunday-Monday: Closed

Walters Branch, 4195 E. Harry Street

Monday-Thursday: 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Friday-Saturday: 11 a.m.-3 p.m.

Sunday: Closed

The City Council passed a program option in the City of Wichita’s 24/25 budget to allow one new full-time professional librarian position at both branches. The goal is to have more programming and technology assistance for the communities around the branch libraries.


‘Shamu’ returns to Wichita streets

The program also includes slighting longer hours to be open when residents need to use the library.
