2024 KU football schedule announced, including home games in KC

30 January 2024

LAWRENCE (KSNT) – Jayhawk football fans now know when KU will play each of its football games in 2024.

The ‘Hawks are looking to build off a season which produced their first bowl win since 2008. Notable matchups on deck for Leipold’s fourth year in Lawrence include:

2023 Guaranteed Rate Bowl rematch against UNLV, in Lawrence on Sept. 14

Sunflower Showdown in Manhattan on Oct. 26

KU’s home games will not be in Lawrence this fall, as David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium will still be in the midst of renovations in the fall of 2024. Instead, the ‘Hawks will host games at both Children’s Mercy Park and Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, as a hype video on social media made clear Tuesday morning.

Here’s the official KU football schedule:

08/31: vs. Lindenwood
09/07: @ Illinois
09/14: vs. UNLV
09/21: @ West Virginia
09/28: vs. TCU
10/05: @ Arizona State
10/19: vs Houston
10/26: @ K-State
11/09: vs. Iowa State
11/16: @ BYU
11/23: vs Colorado
11/30: @ Baylor

Note: ‘vs.’ indicates a KU home game, ‘@’ indicates the Jayhawks are on the road

On KU’s six home games, four will be played at Arrowhead Stadium, the home of the Kansas City Chiefs. Two games will be played at Children’s Mercy Park, the home of Sporting KC.

KU’s first two home games, against Lindenwood and UNLV, will be at Children’s Mercy Park. The Jayhawks’ final four home games, against TCU, Houston, Iowa State and Colorado, will be played at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

KU will have some holes to fill next fall after losing Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year Austin Booker and tight end Mason Fairchild. However, Leipold’s team returns stars, including but not limited to:

QB Jalon Daniels

RB Devin Neal

WR’s Luke Grimm, Quentin Skinner and Lawrence Arnold

CB Cobee Bryant
