Construction on bridge near Manhattan airport wraps up

RILEY COUNTY (KSNT) – The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) reports bridge repairs near Manhattan are about to finish.

Repairs to the 56th Avenue Bridge over Highway K-18, near Manhattan Regional Airport will soon be complete, according to a KDOT press release on Jan. 26. The westbound lanes of K-18 under the 56th Avenue Bridge and 56th Avenue between Skyway Drive and the westbound K-18 on- and off-ramps are open to motorists again.

While some parts of the road are open, the 56th Avenue Bridge will remain closed to traffic, according to KDOT. The bridge is expected to reopen by late February, weather permitting.


Intersection near K-State’s campus closed until 2024

Traffic to the Manhattan Regional Airport on K-18 coming from the west will continue to use the K-114 and Skyway Drive. Motorists traveling from the east can use the 56th Avenue exit and Skyway Drive.
