MANHATTAN (KSNT) – Wildcat women’s basketball continues to climb in the AP poll.
K-State is ranked No. 2 in the country in the latest college women’s basketball AP poll. It’s a two-spot jump after being ranked No. 4 last week. The previously No. 2 and No. 3 teams, UCLA and Colorado, both lost last week.
Undefeated South Carolina is the only team in the country ranked ahead of the ‘Cats. The No. 2 mark ties K-State’s program highest national ranking in the AP poll, it was also ranked second in one poll during the 2002-03 season.
The ranking is earned with a 20-1 record, including a perfect 9-0 resume in Big 12 play. The ‘Cats are riding a 15-game winning streak, counting one win via forfeit at TCU.
Jeff Mittie’s team returns to action with a road game on Wednesday, Jan. 31 against Oklahoma.
