Overbrook man seriously injured in Highway 56 crash

TOPEKA (KSNT) – A local man was left with serious injuries following a crash in Osage County on Friday.

The Kansas Highway Patrol (KHP) reports in its crash logs that the crash occurred at 2:08 p.m. on Jan. 26 at the intersection of U.S. Highway 56 and South Topeka Avenue. A Ford Ranger was driving south on Topeka Avenue while another vehicle, a Chevrolet Lumina, was traveling west on the highway.

The Ford failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection, leading the Chevrolet to hit it on the driver’s side. The 86-year-old Overbrook man driving the Ford was listed as having serious injuries. The 18-year-old Scranton woman who was driving the Chevrolet only had minor injuries.
