22 January 2024

EMPORIA (KSNT) – Sunday’s doubleheader in White Auditorium didn’t favor the Hornets.

ESU lost to Missouri Southern in both men’s and women’s basketball.

The Hornets fell in a close one, 73-70. The Hornets tied the game with 1:16 left but couldn’t hold off the Lions in the final possessions. Alijah Comithier led ESU with 19 points. ESU now stands at 12-7 overall and 5-6 in the conference.

The Lady Hornets lost, too. Missouri Southern women’s basketball extended its winning streak to 10 with a 76-43 win. Faith Paramore scored a team-high 20 points. ESU women’s hoops falls to 9-8 overall and 6-5 in MIAA play.

Both ESU teams are back in action on Thursday, Jan. 25 with a road test at Nebraska-Kearney.
