82-year-old seriously injured in Jefferson Co. crash

JEFFERSON COUNTY (KSNT) – An 82-year-old woman from Meriden was seriously injured after a vehicle was rear-ended and pushed into the opposite lane of a highway.

At 6:10 p.m., a 48-year-old man was driving a 2016 Dodge Challenger south on K4. The 48-year-old rear-ended a 2018 Ram 1500 being driven by a 32-year-old from Meriden. The Ram was pushed into the northbound lane of K4, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol crash log.

The 82-year-old woman was traveling north on K4 and crashed into the Ram, leaving the road to the right side. The Ram was partially disabled while the other vehicles involved were completely disabled, according to the KHP crash log.

The 82-year-old was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. All other drivers involved showed no apparent injuries. All drivers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash, according to the KHP.
