KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police responded to a homicide in the Northland, where at least three people are dead, including a child.

Around 9:45 a.m. Monday morning, KCPD responded to a home on NW 90th Street near 152 Highway and Green Hill Road in Kansas City.

Police said the original call was for a wellness check after a student didn’t show up for school and an employee didn’t show up for work.

According to police, when they entered the home, they found a boy who was dead and a woman and a man who were also dead. Officers said at this time they do not know if the victims are related.

KCPD hasn’t given any details on how these people died. They said they are waiting for crime scene investigators to look at the scene to determine the cause of death for all victims.

“Detectives are in the area canvassing,” KCPD Sgt. Phil DiMartino said. “They’re talking to anyone who may know something, who may know people who live at the residence. They’re talking with the person who called 911 originally. Crime scene investigators will be working to gather any sort of physical evidence that we can.”

This is a breaking news story. FOX4 will update this story when more details are available.
