3 more teens arrested in Friday’s double homicide

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — Wichita police say three more teens have been arrested in connection to Friday night’s double homicide that killed 14-year-old Emoni Shears and 19-year-old Jhiquez Roberts.

Police say investigators located and took into custody a 15, 16, and 17-year-old boy into custody Tuesday. A 14-year-old was arrested and taken into custody Saturday, and he has been charged in juvenile court with two counts of first-degree murder and aggravated attempted robbery.

An 18-year-old man was arrested Monday on suspicion of two counts of first-degree murder. The homicides happened just before midnight when police responded to the 5200 block of East Kensington on the reports of shots fired.

The victims, Shears and Roberts, showed up at the hospital with gunshot wounds. They were later pronounced dead.
