2 arrested for hitting occupied home with gunfire in SE Topeka

TOPEKA (KSNT) – Two local Topekans were arrested following a shooting incident on Friday.

Edward Stanley with the Topeka Police Department (TPD) said officers were called around 1 a.m. on Feb. 16 to the 2400 block of SE Colonial Drive in response to a shooting report. Upon arrival, officers found a nearby home was hit by gunfire but no one was injured.

An investigation into the incident led officers to arrest two individuals, a 20-year-old and a 19-year-old. The pair were taken to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on criminal discharge of a firearm; recklessly at an occupied dwelling charge.
