AUGUSTA, Kan. (KSNW) — Two people have been arrested following a chase through Butler and Greenwood County.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to assist Augusta Public Safety officers after the driver of a Ford Escape refused to pull over around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday.
The sheriff’s office says the SUV continued east on U.S. 400 where speeds at times reached 120 mph. Greenwood County deputies successfully deployed stop sticks as the vehicle entered their county, but the driver continued east.
Deputies say the driver ran over a second set of stop sticks deployed by the Kansas Highway Patrol a few minutes later. The SUV finally stopped about 8 miles west of Fredonia.
The two were taken into custody on multiple charges.
