1 injured after SUV hit by Union Pacific train in northeast Kansas

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) – The Kansas Highway Patrol said a 52-year-old man was injured after the SUV he was driving was hit by a train in Doniphan County. It happened in Elwood just after 1 p.m. on Wednesday.

The KHP says a Honda CR-V was southbound on 15th Street near Vermont Street and failed to yield to an eastbound Union Pacific train. The train struck the SUV.


Tears shed at USD 259 proposed school closures meeting

The 52-year-old driver of the SUV had minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. Another juvenile was also present inside the vehicle.
